Buying your new machine

Whilst we don't have an online shop we are more than happy for you to choose us as the dealer you buy your new machine from.

Chances are that if you haven’t had a new machine in a while things have changed quite a bit- the good news is it’s for the better.  Although we can get most Brother machines in (we say most, some are made exclusively for catalogues and television sales) by in large the starting price of our machines is about £289. We recognise that there are many machines below this price point, and as mentioned we will happily get them in but at the £289 price things change….. from that point on all of our machines have:

Advanced automatic needle threaders - it sounds scary but is super simple to use; no more looking for you glasses or licking threads to start your sewing!

Drop in bobbins – you do just that, drop your bobbin into the base of your machine, pull the end of your thread round a bit of plastic and you’re done. No need to wind the wheel and pick up that thread, just start to stitch.

One step buttonholes – most people coming for a new sewing machine say they aren’t bothered about the buttonhole feature because they never use it. There’s a reason for that, they didn’t have a one step buttonhole before! With these machines there is a special foot that you put on, stick your button on the foot and the machine stitches a buttonhole the correct length for that button- simple. We’ll have you sticking buttonholes on everything in no time.

Start/stop buttons – yes, every sewing machine we sell comes with a foot control but on these machines you can also use a button on the machine itself to start and stop stitching. We know that sounds weird but trust us it’s great! As well as being handy when you just want to hop on the machine without finding all the bits, it’s also a godsend for those of us whose legs, knees and ankles are performing at less than 100% nowadays!

Speed control - on our machines there is a sliding bit that controls the speed of your machine. Yes, you can do that with your foot control too but if you set the speed on the slider to halfway, even if you put your foot flat down on the pedal the machine won’t go over half speed giving you much more control of your speed when sewing.

At Caffle Crafts we don’t believe in selling a machine at all costs and there is no hard sell. We want you to have the machine that’s right for you. Some machine just ‘fit’ better. You will know yours when you find it. We help you find yours by asking what kind of sewing or embroidery you are wanting to do, what you enjoy doing, what you need it to do (even if that is something you don’t enjoy!) and your budget. Again, we don’t believe in selling you the most expensive machine if it isn’t what you need. Above all we want you to be comfortable and confident with your choice. Don’t get us wrong, we’ll happily spend all your pennies- but only on things you need. Speaking of need- there are some things (not many), that are arguably more important than sewing - food, rent, family- that kind of thing. So although we do offer finance on machines over £600 and you should buy the best machine you can afford to it’s important to remember that at the end of the day it’s a sewing machine – never buy a machine that is just too expensive for you, it isn’t worth the stress it would cause. If you’ve been saving and when it comes to it you want a machine that costs a little more just give yourself more time, save a bit longer and that way you’ll get the machine that’s right for you (and you can always come in and stroke ours in the meantime!).
